Honestly, it's not really the classic Robin Hood. Basically, he took Robin Hood, made him an dethroned prince, and set him in Wales fighting against the Norman invaders. One of my favorite books ever, but it's not what you would call "classic" Robin Hood, although it is essentially the same type of story. Directed by Kevin Reynolds. With Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Christian Slater. When Robin and his Moorish companion come to England and the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham, he decides to fight back as an outlaw.

The fact that Robin Hood is in the public domain means that many authors have given the well-known story their own spin, which makes for entertaining reading.
